Preparations
Role papers should be printed in this phase.Instructions
Step 1 — 5 min.
The participants are asked to be in a circle. The facilitators say that there is a community and in this community there are people from different backgrounds, religions, ethnicities, sexual orientations and so on.. There is a bazaar and all the people in the city are invited to participate there. The day is arriving and everyone goes to the bazaar.
Step 2 — 15 min.
Then facilitators put the prepared papers which refer different identities on their back. In the papers are written their roles. The participants don’t know what their roles are but they can see what the others’ roles.
The roles are as below:
- Lesbian sex worker
- Muslim gay man
- Arab Jewish
- Leonardo di Caprio
- Transsexual grandmother
- Black woman
- Afghan refugee
- Salafi man
- Ex-prisoner
- Homosexual imam
- A young men with wheelchair
- Pregnant teenager
- Homeless
- Nerd
- Business woman
- 30 years old blind person
- Female Casanova
- Buddhist monk
- Young woman with HIV
Debriefing
Then the participants are invited to the circle and the debriefing starts:- Who do you think are you?
- How was your reaction towards others?
- How was the reaction of others towards you?
